Who We Are

Ten years ago, Lindsay’s high school friend became Mumu’s grad school friend; the two of them realized they had the appropriate level of dorkiness and snarkiness to become friends with each other, and the rest is history. This podcast is the result of days of harassing each other over instant message and talking about how there just weren’t very many female voices talking about science. (You try and name one!) We hope to open a window on all of the fascinating things that women are doing in STEM and beyond.

Lindsay Claiborn

I am a multimedia journalist with a background in television reporting. I’ve covered all sorts of things including earthquakes, oil spills, elections, sports and entertainment. When I’m not editing podcast audio, I spend my time as the Real Time Video Editor for the McClatchy Video Lab, in Washington, DC. I run a team of video producers tasked with helping our newspapers do video better. I previously worked as a digital producer at FOX Soccer and as a video journalist for Reuters Television. I went to Claremont McKenna College for undergrad and have a master’s in broadcast journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. You can find me on Twitter @LindsayClaiborn and see some of my reporting work here.
